Admission Notice Spring 2025

for

Weekend Master of Science in Chemistry for Industry and Environment

(Weekend Program)

Applications are invited from the prospective students desiring to take a one year Weekend Master of Science in Chemistry for Industry and Environment (WMSCIE) Program which is offered by the Department of Chemistry of Jahangirnagar University.


Course Duration : One year (3 Semesters)
Class Hours : Friday
Admission Requirements:

Applicants must have a

  • 4 year B.Sc (Hons.) degree or, 3 year B.Sc (Hons/Pass) + 1-year masters or 2-year pass + 2-year master in Chemistry
  • 4 year B.Sc (Hons.) degree or, 3 year B.Sc (Hons/Pass) + 1-year masters or 2-year pass + 2-year master in Chemistry related discipline.
  • Minimum CGPA for admission (SSC to BSc): 2.50


Application Procedure:

Application can be done either Online or Offline. You can follow any one method.


A. Online Application Process:

Make a payment of Tk 1050/- as application processing fee from your/agent's Dutch Bangla Mobile Banking Account to WMSC, JU biller code 2710. The process is as follows:


  1. Using your/agent's Dutch Bangla Mobile Banking Account, dial *322#
  2. From the menu appeared, select 1 for Bill Pay
  3. Select any one of the following options<
    • Input 1 (Self) If it is your Rocket account's.
    • Input 2 (Others) If it is Agent /friend's Rocket account.

  4. Collect Txnid (TRANSACTION ID) from the return SMS and fill your form Now

B. Offline Application Process:

Prescribed application form can be collected from the Department of Chemistry. Completed application form along with attested copies of B.Sc (Hons./Pass) & MS certificates/marksheets, two recent passport size color photographs and an amount of Tk 1000/- (in cash) should be submitted to the office of the Department of Chemistry during the office hour between 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Admission test(@ Chemistry Dept., JU) : 27 December 2024, 10:00 am
Publication of result : 27 December 2024
Date of Admission : 29 December 2024 - 2 January 2025
Orientation and Class Start : 3 January 2025 (Friday)

Admission Test: A one hour admission test (MCQ) will be held based on basics in Chemistry and English language sufficiency. Selected candidates are advised to bring all documents on the day of admission test.
